Most people thought he was talking about firearms, but we looked deeper into the context of the famous five words. It turns out he was the original owner of an 8 pound 'Burst and was reluctant to let anyone get between him and that guitar. But the late Soylent Green star was also referring to it in the past tense, as he sold it in the early 70's to the key grip during production of the movie. He needed to free up a few bucks to get an Ovation that he played a few weeks prior, and was also trying to hit a wild weekend in Vegas. For a quick $700, the key grip made the investment of a lifetime.
None of that was true... if you recognize this guitar, it's likely due to being on page 40 of the Beauty of the Burst book. I lended my copy to Joey, so I don't have the details of the original, but this is a replica of that one. I don't know about the weight of the original, but this one only weighs 8.0 lbs! And they even include pickup covers if the double-cream bobbins are too much for you.
